In Memory of Steve Laughey (1949 - 2009)

March 21st, 2009

To Family and Friends of Steve Laughey…

It is with deep sadness that I must share with you the passing of my friend and partner.

Steve Laughey and I have known each other for 20 plus years.  Having worked together as young bucks at Minolta and yes we really young and yes we had great fun!

Like many Minolta folks we grew up together and shared an infinite number of once in a lifetime experience!  Working together and having fun and traveling the world!

Throughout the years Steve was always a gentleman, tremendous father, husband, son and friend!

He was fun, funny and he would always be a rock solid confidant and buddy!  His nickname is Wide Load and I loved to call him that and he would look at me with that great big smile he would always laugh!

There is a quote in the Bible “life is but a whisper” and yet Steve was so much more than that in that he has left his mark on all of us in ways that have made all of us better people for knowing him!

A few weeks back Steve and I were telling each other Minolta stories and we were laughing so hard our eyes were watering.  This is how I will remember Steve because this is the guy I came to respect and love.

Prayers for the entire Laughey Family and miss you Steve!

With Love,
Mike

Our Friend - Steve Laughey

Hello Everyone,      This note is written for so many of Steve Laughey’s friends around the United States! Steve Laughey and I joined Minolta Corporation nearly the same time at Minolta Corporation. Like so many of the Minolta crew we really did grow up together and created some lifelong friendships!  The reason for this blog message is in response to the many (so many) e-mails and phone calls we have received regarding Steve’s serious health crisis. Our friend is unfortunately fighting for his life this past week with a sudden series of critical issues that rushed Steve to a hospital in Atlanta where he is in ICU and facing the biggest challenge of his life!  We will post more information as we receive it but if you would be so kind as to keep Steve and his family in your thoughts and prayers it would mean everything!   Thank you!

Hello from MWA Intelligence!

November 10th, 2008

Welcome to MWAi’s blog and thank you for taking the time to visit with us!

As you can see MWAi has recently launched a great new web site! MWAi is determined to create a new look and feel capable of presenting our technology and our commitment to our customers, partners and employees. Please let us know what you think?!

The M2M (machine-to-machine) and M2P (machine-to-people) industry technology serves many vertical markets around the world. MWAi has been investing in this new and emerging marketplace during the past few years and we (as well as the industry) have making steady progress. The various industry experts believe the worldwide economy will drive many companies to seek new and better automation in order to serve their internal needs as well as their customer requirements. MWAi is very aware that this trend is in fact happening and we can validate the activity is higher than ever the past 90 days.

The copier marketplace in particular has witnessed many changes (major understatement) the past few years. We have seen the printer and connected technologies migrate at the speed of light and with these changes we have seen Managed Print Services rise to a very serious level of importance. In addition we have seen Xerox acquire Global, Konica Minolta acquire Danka and just recently Ricoh acquiring IKON! Let’s not forget ECI acquiring OMD and Lacrosse as well! Amazing as these things are I am willing to bet that we will see a few more notable moves in the year ahead and I would go on to say that it is a great time to be in the imaging business for all who are prepared.

MWAi is committed to our customers and our core business and we will not lose sight of its importance to the industry and to our company. We will continue to invest in the automated service areas in combination with our Intelligent Device Management™ and by extension our Managed Print Services programs. But our “core” always has our full attention!

On behalf of everyone at MWAi please accept my sincerest thanks for your many business contributions, support, patience and continued input. We are focused on improving every part of MWAi in order to serve you better and we will never be satisfied.

Thank you and if you happen to be in the Scottsdale, Arizona area please stop by to visit with us!
Best Regards,
Mike
